Event report: Developing Practice and Partnerships April 2019

by Vic Holmes in Events

For this well attended event we were delighted to welcome Jane Parker to Manchester to talk about the work of the SoundWaves Network in the South West of England.

Jane’s presentation was excellent, challenging the current practice models and raising many questions, particularly around funding. To access the full presentation, please click on the picture below.

Following the presentation delegates formed smaller facilitated discussion groups to identify connections and communities for future collaborations.

Ideas related to areas such as providing CPD for practitioners in Early Years settings, the development of music bags, working with family and community groups and building parents confidence in singing.

The range of organisations and services listed was wide, reaching beyond the music and education sectors.

As usual we ended with a “Takeaway” – “What will you take away from today?”

From the comments received it seems that the event had provoked much questioning of current provision and opened eyes to new possibilities in terms of potential partnerships and models of working.

There was much “possibility thinking” with a real sense of excitement as delegates explored new ideas for collaborative working.
