Note Weavers First Anniversary

by Vic Holmes in News

Note Weavers CIC are proud to celebrate their first anniversary and share our reflections on our achievements so far.

We have been delighted to work with partners from across the North West including The Bureau Centre for the Arts, Blackburn and the Greater Manchester Music Hub on projects and events that have enabled us to bring different people and organisations together on a local level. Note Weavers have also run several successful workshops in the North West and beyond, attracting participants from a wider area, allowing us to build relationships with early years musicians, practitioners and organisations on a national level. In addition to being well-established in the North West, we also recognise the need to play our part in the national discussions around Early Years Music practice and provision.

It is one year since we were incorporated as a Community Interest Company. To support our new organisation, we have established robust and detailed Governance systems to ensure the effective running of Note Weavers. Our expert team of Directors continue to work closely to ensure Note Weavers maintains its position as the North West’s principal Early Years Music training and advisory consultancy. To help achieve this aim, two of our Directors lead and mentor students on the Certificate for Music Educators: Early Childhood (CME:EC) course. Recognising the need for our own professional development, two Directors are undertaking studies at Masters Level (MA Early Years Music, MSc Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Wellbeing) while another is studying for the CME:EC.

Though the current outlook is uncertain, Note Weavers are continuing to strive to build partnerships and collaborate with Early Years organisations across the North West. We are also exploring opportunities to offer online support to organisations, adapting to the restrictions currently in place and understanding the role that technology can play in Early Years practice as we move forward.

We would like to thank all who have supported Note Weavers during our first year and look forward to continuing our work with the Early Years sector across the North West of England and beyond.
